What is Clean Living?
Why is it Important?
Clean living is about getting back to a wholesome, natural life and eliminating harmful toxins, chemicals and substances that our bodies can’t process or can’t process properly. You would be surprised by how many things are completely natural and “healthy” but the way our bodies process them, actually cause more harm than good. This includes what we consume, products we use and the air we breath!
We have the ability to detox all of this but modern day living and diet has us exposed to so many things that your systems just can’t possibly keep up. When your body is working over time trying to process and utilize all of this, it gets tired of working and tired of fighting. That’s when you start to see problems such as (and these are just a few examples):
- A hard time loosing weight
- Low energy and tired all the time
- Achy joints
- Drippy nose or allergies
- Digestive issues (bloating, gas, constipation, IBS)
- Suffer from acid reflux, indigestion or heartburn
- Emotional (ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc)
To feel better you need to start making changes... start living clean!
First lets look at what we consume. It’s pretty obvious that whatever you put in your body; you have to process, filter and use. The more toxins you consume, the more your body has to work in overdrive to do something with it. But if you eat clean wholesome foods, and avoid additives/preservatives, toxins and harmful foods; you allow your body to work how it is supposed to. In turn you will see your ailments go away… you will lose the weight, have more energy, etc.
Second, the products you use on your body are just as important as what you put in it. Our skin is our largest organ and what you put on it goes directly into your bloodstream! So even if you are eating the cleanest diet but continue to use skin care products and/or make up that contain these toxins; your body will still have to work in overdrive. Europe has banned about 1,400 chemicals from personal care products and the US has banned only 30 of those… scary!!! Pay attention to the ingredients in your products.
Last but not least, is our environment, from the air we breath to the products we clean with. Clearly you can’t do much about the pollutants in the air; but you can get an air filter/purifier for inside your home and/or live plants to naturally filter the air (too bad I don’t have a green thumb and I kill most of our plants). But you can control the rest… look for cleaning products free of harmful chemicals and toxins; even if you aren’t touching these products you are still breathing the fumes they give off.
