Clean Living is about getting back to a wholesome, natural life and eliminating harmful toxins, chemicals and substances that do our bodies harm. This includes what we consume, products we use, the thoughts we have and the air we breath!

We have the natural ability to detox all that is thrown our way; however, modern day living and diet has us exposed to so many things that we just can’t possibly keep up. When your body's working overtime trying to process all of this, it gets tired of working and tired of fighting. That’s when you start to see problems... big and small.

They can be as small as:

  • A hard time losing weight

  • Low energy and tired all the time

  • Achy joints 

  • Drippy nose or allergies

  • Digestive issues like bloating, gas, constipation and IBS

  • Suffer from acid reflux, indigestion and heartburn

  • Emotional and Mental like ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc.

Or as big as Cancer, Autoimmune Diseases, Alzheimers, etc.

I have a theory… THE GLASS THEORY.

Our body is like a glass of water and the water is everything we put in it, good and bad. Our glass can only hold so much until one day, it’s just too much… it starts to overflow if you can’t empty it fast enough. It can’t take one more drop and that is when we get sick, really sick!

To feel better and prevent illness/disease, you need to start making changes, start living clean and keep your glass low!

You must have:

  1. Clean Food and Water

  2. Clean Products

  3. Clean Mind

  4. Clean Environment 

 

First, Clean Eating. Let’s look at what we consume… what we eat and drink. It’s pretty obvious that whatever you consume goes in your body; you have to process it, filter it and use it or eliminate it. The more toxins you consume, the more your body has to work. But if you eat clean wholesome foods, avoid additives/preservatives, toxins and harmful foods; you can give your body a break and let it work how it is supposed to. In turn, you may find your ailments go away, you might lose the weight, have more energy, etc.

 

Second, Clean Beauty, personal products. The products you put on your body are just as important as what you put in it. Our skin is our largest organ and what you put on it goes directly into your bloodstream! There are about 84,000 registered chemicals used today that have not been tested or approved by the FDA for safety. Europe has banned about 1,400 of toxins from personal care products and the US has banned only 30 of those… scary!!! So even if you are eating the cleanest diet but you continue to use skin care products, personal products and make up that contain these toxins; your body will still have to work in overdrive trying to do something with them. Please, pay attention to the ingredients in your products.

Third, Clean Mind. It is so important to take care of our mind… from managing our stress, the thoughts we have and the relationships we surround ourselves with. Are our thoughts positive? Are the people we surround ourselves with a positive influence?

Also, modern day living is stressful and fast paced. This stress can take a physical toll on our bodies if we don’t manage it... this happened to me! I will admit, this is the hardest area for me and something I am really starting to work on.

Finally, Clean Home, our environment… we have to have clean air! Clearly you can’t do much about the pollutants in the air outside; but you can control the air inside. Most cleaning products are loaded with toxins and chemicals that are not meant for us. Once you clean with those products, the chemicals are left behind for you to breath (they enter your body through airways) and touch (enter your body through your skin just like with the products we use). Once again, your body has to process these!

The modern world has given us so many conveniences but it has also provided us with more toxins than ever before. We don’t need to be scared of our world but we do need to be aware of what’s going on so we can do something about it. So remember... pay attention to what you consume, products you use, thoughts you have and your environment. Do all of these and you and your family will have a healthy and prosperous life!
