5 Ways Muscle Testing Will Actually Save You Money (and Why I Wish I'd Known This 10 Years Ago)
Let me tell you about the most expensive education I never wanted.
Over five years, I spent more than $100,000 trying to figure out what was wrong with my body.
Traditional medical doctors. Functional medicine doctors. Lab tests. Retests. Supplements by the truckload. Protocols that worked for other people but failed me. Mold remediation (twice) done wrong (once). More supplements. More tests. More practitioners.
All of it was necessary. None of it was personalized for MY body.
And here's the thing that keeps me up at night: If I'd known about muscle testing back then, I could have saved at least half that money.
Maybe more.
Today I'm going to show you exactly how muscle testing saves money. Not in some vague, "woo-woo saves your soul" kind of way, but in concrete, “dollars you can actually keep in your bank account” kind of way.
1. Stop Buying Supplements That Don't Work For YOUR Body
Here's how the supplement game usually works:
You read an article. A friend recommends something. Your practitioner suggests a protocol that "usually works." You buy a $60 bottle of Magnesium.
You take it for two weeks. Feel... nothing? Maybe worse?
But you keep taking it because "maybe it takes longer to work" or "maybe I need to adjust the dose."
Three months later, you have a cabinet full of half-empty bottles and little or zero improvement.
The problem? That supplement might be amazing for someone else. But not for YOUR body. Not right now.
With muscle testing:
Test BEFORE you buy
Know if your body actually needs it
Know the exactly how much YOUR body wants and when
Know when to stop taking it
Real example from my practice: A client was spending over $600/month on supplements her functional medicine doctor recommended. We muscle tested every single one. Her body said "yes" to three of them. She cut her supplement bill to $150/month and felt better within two weeks.
Potential savings: $300-500/month = $3,600-6,000/year
2. Avoid Expensive Tests That Only Show You Snapshots
I ran mycotoxin urine tests two times in about 1 year.
Each one cost between $800-1,200, depending on the lab.
Here's what I learned: Your toxic load changes constantly. What shows up today might be different next week. Tests give you valuable information, but they're snapshots, moments frozen in time AND only what the body is circulating at that moment.
And most people with chronic health issues? They've already been tested to death. They know their diagnosis. They know what showed up. What they need is a way to track their progress without spending hundreds of dollars every time.
With muscle testing:
Check your body's toxic load as needed
Test if a specific toxin is still present
Know if drainage pathways are open
Track progress in real-time, no lab required
Don't get me wrong, labs are valuable. But you don't need to retest all the time when you can check in with your body directly.
Potential savings: 2-4 avoided retests per year = $800-2,800/year
3. Know When You Actually Need a Doctor (vs. When Rest Will Do It)
I can't tell you how many times I would drag myself to a doctor's office, paying the copay, taking time off work, sitting in a waiting room, only to be told: "It's probably viral. Rest and hydrate."
$150 copay later, I'm doing exactly what I could have done from my couch.
Or worse: I'd wait too long to go in because I didn't want to "overreact," and by the time I finally went, I needed antibiotics and was sicker for longer.
With muscle testing:
Ask your body: "Is this something that can possibly resolve on its own?"
Ask: "Do I need time, rest, hydration, and/or nutritional or supplement support?
Test if something is viral, bacterial, or just your body processing something, detoxing, and needs support doing so
This isn't about replacing doctors. I am a naturopath AND I respect Western medicine immensely. This is about using your resources wisely.
Potential savings: 3-5 avoided unnecessary visits and wasted supplements per year = $450-750/year
4. Find Food Sensitivities Without Expensive Elimination Diets
Remember when I mentioned I was allergic to 69 out of 72 items tested?
That testing cost over $500. And it still only told me what I reacted to on that specific day, in that specific state.
Food sensitivities change as your body heals. What bothers you today might be fine in three months. What's fine today might become reactive if your gut gets stressed.
Traditional elimination diets are powerful, but they're time-consuming and often need to be repeated.
With muscle testing:
Test any food before you eat it
Check if your body is ready to reintroduce something
Know which foods are currently inflaming you
Skip the 6-week to 6-month elimination protocols (unless you choose to do it anyway)
I still use elimination diets strategically in my practice. But being able to muscle test means clients don't have to cut out foods unnecessarily, or wonder if they're ready to try something again.
Potential savings: 1-2 food sensitivity panels avoided = $400-700/year
5. Make Decisions Faster (Because Time = Money)
This one's harder to quantify, but it might be the most valuable.
Every time you spend weeks or months guessing about what to try next, you're losing:
Time you could be feeling better
Productivity at work
Energy to show up for your family
Mental bandwidth trying to figure it out
Muscle testing gives you immediate answers:
Which supplement to start with first?
Should I do coffee enemas or castor oil packs for drainage?
Is this emotional or physical?
Do I need more rest or more movement today?
Instead of trial-and-error taking months, you get answers in seconds.
The compound effect? You get better faster. You waste less time on things that don't work. You make better decisions because you're accessing your body's wisdom directly.
The Real Math
Let's add it up conservatively:
Supplements saved: $3,600/year
Tests avoided: $1,200/year
Unnecessary visits avoided: $600/year
Food panels avoided: $400/year
Total conservative estimate: $5,800/year, or more, in savings
Over ten years? That's $58,000.
And that's not even counting the compounding benefit of getting better faster because you're not wasting time on things that don't work for your body.
What This Really Means
I spent over $100,000 on my healing journey. I don't regret it, I learned what I needed to learn, and I became the practitioner I am today because of it.
But if I'd had muscle testing from the beginning?
I could have cut that in half. Maybe more.
I could have avoided years of trial-and-error.
I could have saved my nervous system the constant stress of wondering: "Is this working? Should I try something else? What if I'm doing the wrong thing?"
Muscle testing isn't about replacing good practitioners or quality labs or proper medical care.
It's about accessing your body's wisdom directly so you can:
Make smarter decisions about where to invest your money
Know what YOUR body needs (not what worked for someone else)
Stop outsourcing your power to practitioners and protocols
Trust yourself again
Ready to Learn This Skill?
For less than the cost of two functional medicine appointments or one comprehensive lab panel, you can learn a skill that will serve you for the rest of your life.
A skill that saves you:
money
time
frustration
and years of guessing
This week, I'm launching Muscle Testing Simplified, the course I wish I'd had when I first started.
Two options:
Basic Course ($299): Master the Sway Test for basic personal use
Mastery Course ($979): Complete system for testing yourself and others, as well as integrating this into all aspects of your life
Plus, if you enroll by December 19, you get a FREE 90-minute live training session with me ($197 value) where I'll answer your specific questions and troubleshoot your technique in real-time.
A Final Thought
You don't have to spend what I spent. You don't have to take ten years to figure this out. You don't have to keep throwing money at solutions that might not work for YOUR unique body.
Your body already knows what it needs. Muscle testing just helps you hear it.
