Spicy Margarita

A Twist on the Classic

This Spicy Margarita takes our Classic Margarita and adds a twist to it… jalapeños. An explosion of flavor in your mouth without too much of a kick. Looking for a stronger punch? Just add more jalapeños.

So many people make margaritas using mixes, adding simple syrup or even agave (in an attempt to reduce sugar but it doesn’t really) but that’s plain wrong and usually too sweet. I make them with no added sugar… pure, simple and divine!

Keep in mind, when making a margarita, the tequila does matter! I always recommend you pick a tequila made from 100% agave. I prefer a silver tequila but that’s just personal preference. My two go two brands are Don Julio Blanco and Casamigos.

I give a recipe below but this is how I eye ball it, especially when making a large batch.

  1. muddle jalapeno slices in the bottom of a glass

  2. add equal parts lime juice and Cointreau

  3. double that combined amount with tequila

  4. fill with ice and enjoy or blend for a frozen

Enjoy!
